Workington Sixth Form Centre

WORKINGTON Sixth Form Centre is based on a purpose-built site. We are the Sixth Form for Southfield Technology College and Stainburn School and Science College and one of a very few collaborative Sixth Forms in the country.
As a result of this arrangement we are rich in teaching expertise and are able to offer a wide and varied choice of courses. Our Centre offers a lively and stimulating environment in which to continue studying.
All our 270 students are allocated a personal tutor and have access to our extensive enrichment programme including sport, arts activities, work experience and young enterprise. These build on the 32 academic courses we offer and provide many of the skills needed for further study and employment.
We have been very successful at helping students to obtain their preferred route into Higher Education or Employment through our network of advisors from a number of universities, the local business community and Connexions.
We are proud of our Sixth Form which grows in strength from year to year. From September we are broadening our range of traditional A-level courses with the introduction of the new Creative and Media and the National Award in Sports Studies.
