Schedule of events for August at the childrens club. If you are in any doubt about dates or times then please contact a member of the centre staff to clarify details.

Guide to Activities

Stay and Play 0-8yrs
(outdoors)
An opportunity to come and do outdoor games, ride a bike or car as well as jumping, sliding, rolling and blowing bubbles
(Indoors)
An invitation to come and do messy play, role play, construction. arts and crafts, followed by singing.

Art and Craft 5-8yrs
A chance for older children to come and have a go at jewellery making, porcelain painting, clay, paper mache, puppet making, portrait painting and bag decorating.

Crawlers and Explorers 6-18months
Gain confidence to roll, crawl, sit and pull up. Start to stand and begin to walk. Explore space and freedom in a safe environment.

Time to Play 18months-3yrs
Children and parents/carers can enjoy a variety of play activities including art and craft, construction, imagination and singing.

Baby Social 0-18months
Whether you’re parents, carers or grandparents come along and enjoy natural play, singing and rhyme time and the chance to chat to other parents/carers of young children.

Natural Play 0-3yrs
A chance to experience a variety of different natural materials encouraging imagination, exploration and investigation. A real hands on experience with good tipping and filling activities.

Stop, Swap and Play 18months-3yrs
A session taking place in the Toy Stop & Swap room. The room will be themed weekly e.g. transport or hospital so that children can explore role play, construction, books and imaginative play. There will also be the opportunity to find out about and borrow from the Toy Stop & Swap service.

Art and Craft 2-4yrs
A chance for older ones to come and experiment with clay, paper mache, model making, weaving, sewing and printing.

On the Move 18months-3yrs
A fun movement session where children can build upon skills of balancing, jumping, dancing and crawling, also throwing and catching . In addition, movement to music with scarves and ribbons.

Little Diggers 2-5yrs
Digging, planting, growing and exploring in pots, the garden and the great outdoors. Outdoor play clothes and wellingtons a must, waterproof ponchos available if wet. Planned to be an all weather activity!

Story Time 3-8yrs
A relaxing after school story time for children to come and listen to story telling with the use of puppets which animate and illustrate the story, bringing it to life!

Bikes and Trikes 18months-3yrs
Come and have a go at riding a bike or car as well as many other sit and ride vehicles in a safe outdoor environment.

Messy Play 18months-3yrs
Encourages children and parents/carers to experience different hands on activities such as painting, play dough, gloop, shaving foam, sand and water. Children’s aprons provided, though please wear old clothes!

On the Move 3-8yrs
An outdoor session for children to run, jump, skip, bend, hop, balance and play outdoor games.

Story Time 0-3yrs
Story telling with the use of puppets and additional resources which help to animate and illustrate the story, bringing it to life!

Singing 0-3yrs
A very popular session which provides fun and also helps develop speech and language through action songs, musical instruments and puppets etc.
