Decisions, decisions, decisions

WHO will be kept on? That’s the big question of the week.

Darren Edmondson said he would need to cut his squad by up to four players before the start of the season in a bid to keep costs down.

I think it’s safe to say Rico Colulo will be sent packing after a disappointing pre-season.

The winger has shown brief glimpses of talent and he undoubtedly has the skill to bring down a moving ball but his all-round game doesn’t offer enough to the team.

Colulo has been unlucky that in his way are the likes of Jonny Blake, Conor Tinnion, Stevie Hindmarch and Anthony Wright.

Those four could have a huge say in how the season pans out for Workington but Colulo isn’t up to their standard.

Between the other three it’s a tough call to make.

I think Matty Tymon has done well and scored two good headers.

Aaron Taylor looks a few pounds too heavy and that could be affecting his form.

Alex White started off looking decent but against Penrith he came undone.

I think the plan of action for the Blue Sq North assault will become clear next week.

Edmondson wants to have a final look at the trialists before making a final decision.

How the lads performed against Whitehaven Amateurs last night could make the difference.

MR T lookalike Anthony Wright was sporting a new fashion statement against Darlington.

The mohawk that is synonymous with the A-Team character adorned the Borough Park pitch for the first time and I hear he’s getting some stick.

Rightly so in my opinion. Wrighty, it’s horrible.

CHEEKY Barcelona are not giving up on Cesc Fabregas despite Arsene Wenger drawing a line under the saga.

The Catalan club have reserved the No4 shirt for the coming season in the hope Fabregas is allowed to move.

IN A survey produced this week, it was announced that Rooney is the 13th most unusual baby name of 2010.

Why would anyone name their child after the World Cup flop?

For reference, the top three were Shy, Unity and Bean. However, my favourite came in fifth . . . Puppy!

WELSH wizard Ryan Giggs, the most decorated player Manchester Utd has ever produced, said this week that losing the title to Leeds in 1992 still cuts him up.

Giggs, who has won everything in the game, including a PFA player of the year award at 35 years old, is still haunted by that defeat.

And that is what makes him one of the greatest of all time.

Giggs is a role model like no other. He’s a model professional and it’s great to know that the disappointments he has encountered during his illustrious career still spur him on.

A lot of the young up-starts should take a leaf out of his book instead of blowing countless cash on drink, cars and girls.

FINALLY, a big congratulations to Noel Blake and his young three lions squad.

A U19 European semi-final is a great achievement but why wasn’t Fabio Capello there to watch them?

Capello was busy at a charity golf tournament when he should have shown some respect and watched the future stars strut their stuff.
